Hiking the Grand Canyon's South Kaibab Trail

Embark on a challenging 11-kilometre hike on the Kaibab Trail and marvel at the mesmerising and unparalleled beauty of the Grand Canyon. The South Kaibab Trail offers spectacular panoramic views as you descend along a 1.2 metre wide corridor trail that is less steep than other trails. Every step on this trail opens up new breathtaking views for you.

This ambitious trek is perfect for solo travellers. You will be amazed by the immense size and impressive formations of the canyon, and take a moment to pause. During your hike on the Kaibab Trail, you can also expect to share this path with mules that also use the trail.

About 1.5 kilometres into your hike, you will reach the picturesque "Ooh Aah Point", which got its name because of the reactions of hikers who are overwhelmed by the sight. Continue for a kilometre to Cedar Ridge, a stopover with a prominent flat stone plateau. Here you have the opportunity to step out onto the plateau and admire the majestic canyon below. As you continue your way to Skeleton Point, you will be confronted with considerable differences in altitude. But the effort is worth it, as Skeleton Point offers you an unparalleled 360-degree view of the entire canyon.
